Morocco is a surfer's paradise. Here, we will ride the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, experience Moroccan culture, and explore the desert dunes.
In January, we will go on a ski trip to the Alps, with huge mountains, enchanting forests and a vast network of ski lifts.

Japan and Morocco
This program offers two amazing destinations. Morocco is a surfer's paradise and the perfect place to learn how to surf. In addition to at least seven days of surfing instruction, we will also get to experience the Moroccan culture and explore the desert dunes. In January, we will go on a ski trip to the Alps, with huge mountains and fantastic opportunities to improve your skills both on and off the slopes.
Is This Program Right for You?
This program is for those who have never ridden a trail or wave before, as well as those with experience in both. You should have some prior experience with skiing, but no experience with skins and ski touring equipment is necessary. You should also be in decent physical shape, ready for a lot of skiing, comfortable sleeping outdoors, and prepared to hike uphill to "earn your turns".

My name is Sindre, and I’m the program instructor for Freeride. This year, I want you to have experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life, and learn some new skills that you can enjoy long after having left us.
I have a bachelor's degree in outdoor life, a one year program in sports studies, a specialization in ski instruction with 15 credits, and one year of practical teacher training.
I have also been a student and research fellow at Valdres Folkehøgskole.
Prices
Food and Lodging
NOK 83 000,-
The sum covers food and lodging as long as the school is open.
General Expenses
NOK 16 000,-
The sum covers equipment rental, copying, electives, core subjects and group trips.
Program Expenses
NOK 55 000,-
The sum covers all domestic and international trips, activities, instructors and equipment rental.
What does it really cost?
Many do believe that folkehøgskole is expensive. It is however cheaper to board at the school than to stay in an apartment and pay for your own food expenses. Take a look at the cost example below:
